Friday 20th began with a tour of Arsenal courtesy of the AFC Community programme. Both sets of students loved seeing inside the famous Emirates Stadium from the media briefing room to the dressing room through the tunnel and on to the pitch! The growing confidence of our Magoba visitors was obvious in the spontaneous game of football that broke out outside the stadium and in their enjoyment in engaging with all the interactive resources in the Arsenal museum.

One of the boys wrote in his memory book:

'Today we went to Arsenal Stadium and we went to changing room for the home team (Arsenal) and we saw a place where players take a bath after the match. We also went to a place where players warm up before they start the match. And later we went to Nando’s to eat. I order chicken wings and they were hot and my lips were on fire.'

The singing continued in the park and on to Nando's where the day finished with a meal at this international favourite.

Friday afternoon was spent in an intensive rehearsal for the charity single: a cover of the R Kelly song 'The World's Greatest'. Magoba JSS quickly found their place in the choir and instantly recalled the words they last sung as a group over 6 months ago. It was truly moving to see the South African and UK students bonding and working together on this joint project - the fruition of a link between the schools that first began 10 years ago.
